The Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union and 'a major political party center-right in Hungary. Starting with the 2010 elections in Hungary, Fidesz is the largest party in Parliament Hungary. It is a member of the European People's Party (EPP). The party was founded in 1988, simply called Fidesz (Fiatal Demokraták Szövetsége, Alliance of Young Democrats), originally started as a young libertarian party and anti-communist. Fidesz was founded by young democrats, especially students, who have been persecuted by the Communist Party, and then had to meet in small clandestine groups. The movement became a major force in many areas of modern Hungary, engaging at every level to create a democratic system, its members were active as guardians of fundamental human rights. Joining the party was initially allowed only young people with the age limit of 35 years (this requirement was abolished at the Congress 1993). Fidesz and the 'increased from liberalism to conservatism in the mid 90's, what' has caused a rupture within the party, many members have left, especially for the other party liberal SZDSZ which then entered into MSZP coalition with the Socialist Party after the 1994 elections.
Fidesz is currently regarded by many as a conservative party in social matters, but perhaps more "leftist" in its economic policies.

The chairman of Fidesz Youth Section is Daniel Loppert.
